Your next assignment is an exercise in creativity, engineering, design, prototyping, refinement and finalizing a concept. You will then submit your final concept to the Stratasys Annual Extreme Redesign contest.
The Challenge:
Redesign an existing product to improve how a task is accomplished, or design something entirely new that addresses an unmet need.

Project Details and Deliverables:
- Choose a category to design for, meet with your instructor and classmates to discuss the ideas and develop a strategy and focus
- Develop a concept for your design and write a short description/overview of your concept
- Create a "mood board" for items that meet your design idea in different formats, styles, show inspiration and examples or reference images and make sure the board informs us of the concept, style and application
- Pencil/Pen sketch your design from all sides, refine to make it unique
- Consult with your instructor and classmates to guide your design and refine as needed
- Begin modeling and prototyping your design, test it's application and refine/reprint to get the best result
- Print a final version and post photos of it alongside your mood board and concept paragraph
- Submit your final files to the contest and follow all contest guidelines for submitting. You will need a grabCAD account to submit
Concept Example:
This was a prototype model I developed for the inventor. This design was already submitted for patent which was granted. This is a design for a more comfortable dental "bitewing". This is used to hold an x-ray plate in place and is made of molded rubber for more comfort on the patients gums.
